Matthew picked lemon-jello cake for his birthday this year. We used trick candles. We finally had a year when he couldn't blow all the candles out by himself.
Mark and I dropped the ball on Matthew's b-day. We miscommunicated about a gift and we thought the other was taking care of it. So Matthew didn't get anything for his b-day.

Matthew had a party at the house. They did a Will Smith marathon. (we did check out the movies ahead of time). All of the kids he invited seemed really nice and I think they had a good time. One fun thing they did, since all of the kids here play different instruments, is the kids gathererd around the piano, and played songs. The kid with the guitar here, plays the piano really well. He had an ipod on and could play whatever song they picked on the ipod. Then another kid had Mark's guitar and another kid played another type of guitar that they brought. They harmonized and played the guitar for the Happy Birthday song. I tried to video and they didn't want me too. None of the other pictures turned out. Since Mark lost my camara and then it was found out at the hunting lease, it doesn't work all of the time.
We took Matthew to Benihana's for his b-day dinner - just Matthew. He said my steaks won't compare anymore. hm-so sad. He then tried to recover and said I am still a good cook.
Kinda scary. Only one more year til this kiddo is driving.
