I was pulling ingredients out of the cupboard and handing them to the boys to put on the counter. I would then measure the ingredients and the boys would take turns dumping into the bowl. I handed the baking soda to Richard and the vanilla to Robert. I turned back around to get the salt. When I turned back to the boys, Richard had opened the baking soda and was dumping soda into the dough. The mixer was on so there was no way for me to scoop soda out.
The cookies tasted ok. I have no idea how much baking soda actually made it into the cookies. They didn't tast like normal but they were still good. I do have to admitt that I did not eat very many though. I have the ability to eat a whole batch of peanut butter cookies. Not this time. I only ate 1 whole one.
