Boston & New York Trip Day1:Part 3

After dinner, we went to where the Boston Massacre happened. This is it. It is in the middle of an island in the middle of an intersection. I can't find the picture of the intersection. I will add it when I find it.

This is Paul Revere's house. Pretty cool that it is still standing.

When we arrived at the Prudential Building, we counted kids as they came off the bus. There were 30 of us. We forgot to include the bus driver in our number so we counted 30 and there should have been 31. After we counted kids, one of the boys decided to return to the bus to retrieve his camera. While he was on the bus, the bus driver locked the bus. We went into the building and counted kids again as we got on the elevator. the number came to 30. About a half hour after we got to the top we got a phone call from the kid that had been left behind. He couldn't find us and was in the parking garage. There were 7 levels of parking garage. The bus driver and one of the chaperons went down to find him. After they found him, the bus driver asked where he had been. He said on the bus. The bus driver asked him how he got off the bus since the bus was locked. He said he had turned the emergency dile and the door had unlocked. The bus driver then asked if the bus was still open. The boy replied Yes!. All of our stuff was still on the bus and the door was not locked. The bus driver went out to the bus and found that a hotel security guard was by the bus. The hotel had seen the bus doors open on their security cameras and knew that we were at the top of the Prudential building. We were thankful that the boy was ok and that all of our possessions on the bus were fine. We also learned that our number was 30 without tour guides and bus drivers. We did not make that mistake again. I got the pleasure of talking to the boy's dad at the airport when we arrived back in San Antonio.

We headed to the hotel after the Prudential Building. We had had a long day. It was 10pm by the time we got to the hotel.

The tour group that we used for this field trip was World Strides. I was impressed. They handled everything. When we got to the hotel they had a security guard stationed in the hallway. They asked what time we wanted all the kids in their rooms and after that, the kids were not allowed out of their rooms. This allowed the chaperons to sleep. The first 2 nights the guard in the hall was kinda scary so the kids didn't dare come out of their rooms.
