Day 1: Part 2 of Boston and New York Trip

Rebecca was listening to the tour guide at the monument in Lexington, MA. They have parks set up through out the towns as common grounds. This one is considered a special common ground and we were told that you would never even think about bringing your dog there. As we were leaving we saw a family having a picnic and they had their dog with them. The locals were offended.

A lot of these kids were involved with the reenactment that happened in Boerne at the town square. They did it here on the common ground where the monument about the battle is located. They didn't have their uniforms but the effect was the same. There was another school there for a field trip and they stopped to watch.

Bell tower of the Old North Church where the lanterns were lit to tell the people when the British were coming. One if by land. 2 if by sea.

The church is not actually in the same spot as it was then. They moved it across the street from the original sight.

A storm began to come in so we headed back to the bus. We were hoping to beat the storm but alas we did not. It hit us hard in Boston. I have never seen anything like it.

We arrived back in Boston. We got off the bus to go to the Paul Revere Monument. As we were walking, a police officer got my attention and told me to turn around. I turned and saw a wall of water and dirt coming toward us. Several of us jumped into a restaurant to get out of the storm. Rebecca and I got separated. She and some of the other students stepped into a hallway of an apartment building. A lady opened her apartment up for the kids and had them all praying. It was a pretty bad storm. Finally the police let us go. I was amazed at the damage caused by the wind. There were tress down in the parks. There was a Mercedes car that had a tree on top of it.
