Rodeo Day in Kindergarden

The kindergarten does a rodeo/cowboy day every year. The kids had so much fun. I made cowboy vests and bought cowboy hats. They really wanted boots but I couldn't find any in our small town and I didn't want to go to San Antonio. The boys told me they would be the only ones not wearing boots. I thought "yeh, right". Well, I was wrong. The boys were the only ones in their classes that did not have boots.

The high school FFA brought animals for the kids to see. I just had to laugh at a one of the mom and her daughter. They didn't know the difference between a rooster and a hen. The little girl asked what the animal was that my boys were chasing. I couldn't believe she didn't know what a chicken was. We live in a rural community. The mom also thought that if a chicken laid a green egg that the egg was green inside.

Mrs. Palomo showing the kids how to barrel race with a stick horse. A dad from one of the English speaking classes made a "class" set of stick horses. They are really nice and will be used for many years to come.
